Jules Verne is the father of science fiction. His vivid
imagination still astonishes us today. It's hard to believe that
20,000 Leagues Under the Seas was published in 1869, before the
invention of a practical submarine and before electric power was
harnessed. The language sounds a bit quaint today but the story
is a great read.
